Watch the NBA Western Conference Finals Online - Dallas Mavericks vs Oklahoma City Thunder
It comes simply down to old pros versus young up-and-coming superstars in the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. All of the Mavs top five players are past 32 : Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Peja Stojakovic, Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion. On the other side of the court, five of the top six Thunder players are younger than Dallas – younger than 23: Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Serge Ibaka and Eric Maynor,
The Thunder comes off an exceptionally challenging series against the Memphis Grizzlies that took all of every seven games to decide the winning outcome. The Mavs swept the Los Angeles Lakers last week and have not played in nine days. This may prove an important factor when the conference finals begin Tuesday, May 16.
Texas and Oklahoma aren't exactly the friendliest sports neighbors on the planet. The “built-in” animosity has college origins with the “Red River Rivalry,” the annual college football contest that pits the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners on one of the most famous rivalries in all of American sports. The next two weeks will see that rivalry on the professional hardwood floor creating a new “legend” of animus and heated hostility as the Dallas mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder battle for that spot on the “dance” floor for the NBA Finals.
